Bear with us little longer

Located in the south-eastern corner of Sicily, the territory surrounding Ragusa is one of the most preserved and ecologically rich rural landscapes in the Mediterranean. Characterized by the rolling hills of the Hyblean plateau, ancient dry-stone walls, carob trees, and wide natural pastures, this region has maintained a deep balance between agriculture and nature for centuries.

Thanks to its clean environment, mild Mediterranean climate, mineral-rich soil, and constant sea breezes, South-East Sicily offers ideal conditions for sustainable agriculture and natural farming practices. The low level of industrialization and the strong presence of traditional farming communities help preserve the biodiversity and purity of the land.

This unique ecosystem provides the perfect environment for responsible agricultural projects like Agrimont, where nature, innovation, and respect for the territory come together to produce high-quality natural resources while protecting the ecological integrity of the region

The Helix Aspersa Müller, also known today as Cornu aspersum , is one of the most widespread and valuable land snails in the Mediterranean region. Native to Mediterranean climates, this species thrives in environments like South-East Sicily , where mild temperatures, natural vegetation, and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for its natural life cycle.

This small grey snail, typically weighing 6–15 grams with a shell diameter of around 25–35 mm, is highly appreciated both for its biological qualities and its adaptability to open-field farming systems. It reaches maturity relatively quickly and can lay around  100 eggs per reproductive cycle, making it particularly suitable for sustainable heliciculture.

In natural Mediterranean ecosystems, the Helix Aspersa Müller feeds on a wide variety of herbs and plants, absorbing nutrients from the surrounding vegetation and soil. These environmental factors contribute to the  high quality of the snail’s mucus, which is rich in natural compounds widely used in cosmetic, dermatological, and regenerative applications

For centuries, this resilient species has been part of the rural landscapes of Sicily. Today it represents a perfect bridge between traditional agriculture and modern bio-industry , supporting sustainable farming while providing a valuable natural resource for innovative sectors such as cosmetics and biotechnology.

Ozone Therapy Extraction Process

At Agrimont, the extraction of snail slime is carried out through an innovative ozone-based stimulation process, designed to ensure maximum purity while fully respecting animal welfare.

During the extraction phase, the snails are placed in a controlled environment where purified water and medical-grade ozone are gently introduced. The ozone creates a natural stimulation that encourages the snails to release their mucus without causing stress or harm. This process also provides an important sanitizing effect, eliminating potential contaminants and preserving the biological integrity of the secretion.

Once released, the mucus is immediately collected and subjected to advanced filtration and purification procedures to remove any impurities while maintaining the integrity of its natural active compounds. The result is a high-quality, 100% pure snail slime, rich in beneficial elements such as collagen, elastin, glycolic acid, allantoin, and natural proteins.

This ozone-assisted extraction method allows Agrimont to combine animal-friendly practices, high hygienic standards, and superior product quality, delivering a premium natural ingredient suitable for cosmetic, dermatological, and biotechnological applications.

“From Farm To Face”

The “From Farm to Face” policy is a guiding principle adopted by few clean beauty and skincare brands. It emphasizes transparency, sustainability, and the use of natural, farm-sourced ingredients in skincare products. This policy ensures that every ingredient can be traced back to its agricultural origin—promoting ethical sourcing and minimizing synthetic additives.

The goal is simple: what you put on your skin should be as pure and trustworthy as the food you eat. Brands that follow this policy typically work directly with local farmers and producers to ensure high-quality ingredients, reduce environmental impact, and support fair trade practices. These products are often free from harmful chemicals, GMOs, parabens, and artificial fragrances.

From Farm to Face reflects a broader movement toward conscious consumerism, where people demand not only effective skincare, but also accountability in how it’s made. By choosing products that follow this policy, consumers support healthier skin, sustainable farming, and a more honest beauty industry
